2/25/09- Trail and driveway maintenance at the Betsie will be more fun this year with the addition of a 4x4 ATV. It's a 2006 Honda Rancher 400 with snow plow and dump trailer. Look in gallery-4 for a few pictures.

More kitchen pictures in gallery-4. This time it's Kate's kitchen getting a makeover. The refrigerator has been relocated and replaced and the plan is to add cabinets and counter to wrap around the north wall. The cabinets will all be painted white and counter-tops will all be butcher block. Check back occasionally to see the progress.

03/31/08
The kitchen project at Annie and Adam's house is near completion. New floor, cabinets, counters and travertine tile backsplash has transformed their kitchen. All that remains to be done is some trim and paint. See construction pictures here.

8/25/09- Jason (and Suzy) got a new car
It's a 2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Bright red, 6 speed manual, turbocharged, 4dr. It looks pretty sporty. Check it out in the cars gallery

They've been wanting to paint their house for years, and now that they're about to move out of it, it's done. Look at the before and after pictures here in the projects gallery to see the color they chose.

8/5/09- There's engagement news!
Seems that Vern and Bryan are working to stimulate the economy by buying jewelery. Katy's birthday was Wednesday and Vern presented her with an engagement ring. Then on Friday, Bryan presented Mindy with an engagement ring and as Bryan put it on his Facebook page, "She said YES!!!!!".

We now have pictures of both Katy's and Mindy's rings.

05/20/07 - While in Kalamazoo last weekend, we had a look at the house next to Jane & Ace which may be available for purchase. It is a kit house built in 1923 and looks like it has a lot of potential. Of course Jane & Ace would like to have family buy it and move in to it, but if not family, at least someone who would fix it up and be good neighbors. Have a look at the pictures and think about investing in it as a fixer-upper.

7/30/07 - Westside Builders is nearing completion of their project to rebuild a house that narrowly escaped a date with the wrecking ball last fall. The house at 513 Fourth Street in Ann Arbor's Old West Side was built around 1900 and had fallen into a state of disrepair. Bill & Chris and their crew stripped it to the studs and joists and have rebuilt it to be better than new. Update- The house was completed and sold in December '07. Congratulations to the new owners and to Westside Builders for a job well done.

4/14/07 - With three days in Ludington, the sun was out for just a short time on Friday so I took the opportunity to get some pictures with my new camera. The Kodak p712 is very similar to my previous DX7590, but with higher resolution, longer zoom, optical stabilization and a hot shoe for an external flash. I've not had enough time yet to get familiar with all it's features, but take a look at a few 'point and shoot' pictures of the Lake Michigan shoreline.

4/2/07 - Adam had the RufRoadMotorsports Focus #515 at the Rallycross in Fowlerville, MI last weekend. There are lots of pictures and some videos in the gallery at their website.

There's another building project underway at Jane and Ace's house in Kalamazoo. A major Kitchen renovation including demolition of walls and the removal of a brick chimney has begun. They'll be almost doubling their kitchen space. It's an exciting project and there are already dramatic visible changes.

Monday 7/3/06
The wedding reception for Adam and Annie is coming up this weekend. It is a casual event with outdoor activities available such as volleyball, croquet and hikes in the woods. You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in, whether shorts, jeans or tux. You'll see some people dressed up and some casual, so wear what suits you.
Starting at 4:00pm, there will be drinks (water, pop, tea, beer, margaritas, daiquiris, coffee) and appetizers and a buffet dinner at 6:00pm. After dinner there will be dancing music for those so inclined.

Monday 7/3/06
We stopped out at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti on Sunday to see a gathering of Camaros. There were about 350 cars there for the judging on Saturday. I was particularly interested in the 60's models since I owned a '68 Z28 at one time. We have pictures here from the event for anyone interested.

Saturday 6/24
Dick & Kate are hosting Archie the Great Dane while his parents Jane and Ace are in Alaska. He's been with us since Wednesday and will be here until next Wednesday. We've had lots of good walks and you can see pictures from an outing at the County Farm Park where we walked with Clare and her owner Betsy.

Sunday 6/25
On Bob's recommendation, (and using the sample he provided) I used a product called 'Wash Wax All' on my truck. It's a drying aid that you spray on as you dry the car after washing and then wipe with a soft cotton cloth. I have to say that it left a beautifully clean finish with no water marks and no streaks. It seems to work as well as he said it would. It's marketed to the aviation industry, but used by many show car owners. I'll likely buy more when I've used up the bottle that Bob gave me. Molly & Jeff are making great progress on their new house in Kalkaska.

Adam and Annie were the honored guests at a party to celebrate their upcoming wedding.
Family and friends gathered at the Eagles lodge on Saturday the 17th of Dec. to wish them well. Although the weather outside had an arctic feel, the tropical themed gathering inside was warm and comfortable.

The wedding will take place in Hawaii on the 30th of December 2005 and there will be a reception / celebration next July in Michigan.

Jane and Ace have started redecorating their new home in Kalamazoo. With the floors all refinished, it's time to tackle the walls.

The rally cars were out for time trials at the Saline fairgrounds on Saturday July 2nd. Adam and Phil brought their orange Dodge Neon #515 out for some fun. Look for their car, sometimes labled #115, as well as many others in the picture gallery.
